Kennedy Street, Nanaimo, Winter 2017/Summer 2018

This 110 year old home was in need of some major renovations and updates but the new owners were only be able to do so in stages. Island Red Cedar Construction Ltd. was happy to oblige.

Phase one involved a structural upgrade to the foundation, an interior renovation of the main floor, insulation and window upgrades, as well as a high efficiency in-floor water heating system.

Phase two involved a 200 square foot addition of living space and car port added to the home as well as a 500 square foot home-based business. A full exterior renovation to the siding and heavy timber entryways were added throughout. Solar panels compliment the efficient heating system, bringing down the cost of running the home and business, and a wireless security and sound system compliment the new look of the house. After 110 years this home looks brand new.

Sean and the Island Red Cedar crew were fantastic to deal with. They are very talented carpenters who have an eye for detail while maintaining an organized work site. Sean always kept me up-to-date on any changes around the projects. Now Iā€™m happily settled into my home-based business and I receive compliments daily about my beautiful space! A huge thank you to the crew for going above and beyond my expectations and bringing my dream clinic to reality.
