JRT Architecture designed this 3500 square foot custom West Coast inspired home with input from the owners and our firm. Placed in a wooded lot on Nanaimo Lakes Road and a stone’s throw from the Nanaimo River, this home was designed to suit its rural location and bring the outdoors in. With tall vaulted ceilings, full height windows, red cedar accents in and out, and a split level design, this home beautifully combines form and function.
A metal roof with electrical prepped for solar power and a high efficiency hydronic heat pump heating the in-floor heating system allows for a comfortable and efficient home. Add to that a water catchment and treatment system integrated into the well system and you have a home that is ready to go off grid.
