Transtide Drive, Nanoose, Winter 2018/Spring 2019

After a fire destroyed part of this house and left the rest in need of remediation, a busy restoration company called Island Red Cedar in to run the job after long delays. After careful demolition and removal of the affected areas, this remediation was much like any other renovation. The structure was rebuilt and the finishing was mostly done to match the original - with a few new updates to modernize the interior and bring in some new light with additional windows.

Our great good fortune was connecting with Island Red Cedar Construction. From our first meeting with Sean, we had new hope that we would be back in our home. Sean’s professionalism and expertise gave us confidence.

He and his crew started demolition straightaway, and continued at an intense pace, starting early and quitting late. Throughout this part of the process they were meticulous about removal of waste and avoided damaging landscaping. No matter what the weather, they worked doggedly to remove and clear fire and water-damaged building materials and prep the site for rebuilding.

Reconstruction began seamlessly and carried on intensely through the following months and I had the opportunity to observe the finest bunch of carpenters we have ever experienced! Sean’s crew were brilliant at solving problems, painstaking about their work, exacting about quality of materials, punctual on all deadlines, and they made no mistakes that could have caused delays. They were magnificent!

Our experience with Island Red Cedar Construction. was so positive that we credit them with helping us become whole again. Not only did they rebuild our house into a beautiful home, they helped rebuild our hearts.
