Maxey Road, Nanaimo, Spring/Summer 2016
The homeowners purchased this 1950s home with an eye to improve on the existing structure and facade and expand the floor plan. With the help of a local design firm and some hard work on our behalf we were able to make their vision come to life.
With over 700 square feet added to the home, a new post and beam entry and porch added to the exterior, the main floor gutted and reconfigured, all new siding and trim to the exterior, and upgrades added throughout you can barely recognize this home from what it used to look like.
“Having finally decided to renovate and create our ‘dream home,’ our next largest concern was finding a contractor we could trust to execute on our vision. After meeting Sean with Island Red Cedar, our concerns were quickly put to bed. Island Red Cedar strives for quality construction with honesty and integrity in its delivery. We were very quickly confident in giving Island Red Cedar high level requirements for our finishes, and leaving it to them to get the job done - from permitting through to final inspections - on time and within budget, all without sacrificing quality. We would highly recommend Island Red Cedar to anyone looking to build or renovate.”
